Help others ---- Join
us a a volunteer!
It has been said that helping
others is one of the greatest therapies of all times.
Regardless, you will be rewarded with new friendships.
We are looking for people from
all walks of life - from all types of background - and all ages,
to help others . If you have the genuine desire to
help, please let us know.
Some of the types of volunteer
positions are:

must have regular access to the Internet. As the host,
you will be greeting the visitors, making them
comfortable, encouraging conversation and answering
basic questions, etc. It is a great way to meet
people. NOTE: We are expanding our Chat Schedule
- - Now is an ideal
time to volunteer. We will train you in the skills
needed for hosting.
|
 | Welcome
Wagon Team. Our Welcome Wagon members are actively involved daily in all aspects of the
COPD-International community programs. They are community
members committed to supporting our newest arriving members
through their Web site guidance and by the sharing of
information that will help them achieve a better, more
fulfilling life.
Regular
e-mail access is the primary method needed.
- |
 | Moderate a Message
Board.
You must have regular Internet access and be available
for short periods of time on a regular basis. As a
moderator, you will be responsible for checking the
forums message board for new messages, and screening
them for appropriateness (examples: blatant advertising,
foul language, etc). You will be able too edit
and/or remove those which do not fit our standards.
NOTE: This is not censorship in any way. We do not
moderate messages before posting
- |
 | Program
Co-coordinators. Many of our programs require
several levels of ongoing supervision to insure their
functionality. Many of these volunteer positions
go on in the background (examples: e-mail list
management, KIT program, etc). For many of these
positions, regular e-mail access is the primary method
needed.
|
 | Researchers. We are
always looking for the latest information on COPD and
the related diseases for our Library. If you love
to surf the Internet, then this might be a great way for
you to help inform and educate people about these issues
|
 | Help with Displays and
Booths. We often receive requests for COPDers to
staff displays and booths at various places (hospitals, conferences etc).
If you are interested, please indicate in the form below.
Include the area you can travel and availability.
|
 | Speakers. If
you would like to speak to groups (from just a few on up in
size), we suggest that you register at
http://www.COPDCouncil.org. Most times, all
that is needed is to talk about your personal experiences as
a COPDer. |
