Common Chat Room
Abbreviations and Emoticons
This is a list of frequently used chat
room abbreviations, as well as some of the emoticons, or symbols used to
express emotions. This is not all of them, but this will help you become
more familiar with some of the most commonly used ones in our chats and
help you get on your way to some fun chatting.
Also bear in mind that in chat lingo, using
all capital letters usually represents shouting or screaming in the
room. If in doubt about an abbreviation that is used, by all means, ask
someone there. Capital letters have been used here to eliminate any
confusion. For the most part, upper and lower case are acceptable in
chat when abbreviations are used.
