IT IS HAPPENING !
NHLBI, has launched a national campaign,
COPD: Learn More, Breathe Better.
This program was developed by the NHLBI to increase awareness and
understanding of COPD and its risk factors and to emphasize the benefits
of early detection and treatment.
In partnership with leading professional societies, health
organizations, and advocacy groups, the campaign reaches out to at-risk
adults (smokers and former smokers ages 45 and older), diagnosed COPD
patients and their caregivers, and health care providers.
Numerous resources—public service announcements, fact sheets, a Web
site, an educational video and poster, and materials for community-level
organizations—will support the campaign.
COPD-International.com has been selected as
one of the Partners in this campaign, and will provide information as
events are organized.
You can also stay current on the progress of
this campaign, as well as obtaining materials and information at the the
NHLBI website at:

Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, one of the National Institutes of
Health in the U.S. The NHLBI's mission is to "provide leadership for a
national research program in diseases of the heart, blood vessels,
lungs, and blood and in transfusion medicine through support of
innovative basic, clinical, and population-based and health education
research."
