It's only logical for you to be fearful, depressed, frustrated, angry, and to suffer a deep loss of self-esteem. It's even understandable to feel you have the right to some self-pity. But you also have the right to redirect those energies toward managing your disease.........

Bill Horden
COPD-Advocate

Patients with COPD, need to learn that COPD is treatable and manageable.

Are those words redundant? - - - - -  NO!.

It is important to see the difference.  Doctors, therapists, and other healthcare professionals can provide the "treatment;"   -----   then the COPD patient must find the way to "manage" this disease and to minimize its effect on their lives.

It is important to find useful things to do, despite the limitations caused by this disease.

The "COPDers at Work" scrapbook features some of our community members who have COPD, yet have found the way to continue to work.. For some, it required learning a new "field" or career. For others, they were able to continue working in their present field.

The "Leisure Time" scrapbook features everything from travel ideas, to hobbies, to tips and tricks for everyday living.

Learn to control this disease instead of letting it control you!
